1. Seinfeld
The all-time classic show about nothing. If a repeat is on at any time, the clicker will
be put down and hilarity ensues. Home of two of TV's greatest characters, George
Costanza and Kramer. Show excells in introducing great secondary characters too.
2. Survivor
The best, and one of the earliest reality game shows on TV. Amazed at the
photography, and the imagination used in each challenge presented. Great rule twists
from season to season as well. Pubmaster filled out 18 page questionaire, sent in the
tape, and never heard another word. That's okay though, the show rocks.
3. The Sopranos
Bum us out each year after season is over. Great show, but way too long in between
seasons, cost it a top three spot on the countdown. Let's keep it coming, people! 2006
gets it back in the top three, up from #8.
4. The Shield
Intensity at its best. Amazed at quality in writing, and sheer rawness of each episode.
Vick Mackey is one bad dude! Put FX on the map.
5. Law and Order
The perenial drama based on real life, is always well written and well acted. Home of
one of the Pub's favorite characters, Jerry Orbach. Never turn it off, and its on 5 times
a day.
6 The Simpsons
Best cartoon of all time. A modern day Buggs Bunny, with a hint of real life as well.
7. Entourage
New program by HBO. After watching a few episodes of the NY bred foursome turned
Hollywood, you'd swear there is no script at all. Always great to see celebs playing
themselves too.
8. American Idol
Feel kinda gay having this on the list, but we like the pure essence of the show. You
either can or can't sing. Only problem with program is that of course we don't think
the rest of America is as smart as we are when it comes to music, letting the Fantasia
Barinos of the world win on occasion.
9. Cheers
For years, the best comedy on TV. A show where you truely feel the characters are
buddies of yours. Doing well passing the test of time.
10. West Wing
Great writing, a super cast, and again working off the premise of real world events.
NBC's long running series keeps moving forward with different cogs. Will sorely miss
John Spencer though, as the Vice President.
11. South Park
Is there anything they won't do on this show? Outrageous dialog combined with
elementary art work... works. Any show that can drop the work 'shit' over 300 times
in one episode is really trying to push the envelope. Amazed at how quicky they can
poke fun of the real world.
12. ER
Another long running and top notch program out of NBC. Almost too good for its
own good. We find it hard to watch an episode and then fall asleep. Favorite episode,
the one when Dr. Green dies. Oye!
