Without Cus, Mike
turned despicable both
in and out of the ring.
It was almost
saddening to see such
a waste of ta

A.I. was upset that his
daughter had to hear about
his problems with 'practice'
at school.  Wonder what she
is going to hear about
Mommy and Daddy now?
Here are some of the
grumbling overheard
recently at Whitey’s Pub...

What do Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, and Allen Iverson have in common?
Word at the Pub is that they are all dumb as a box of dirt.  Joe
Frazier though,  was smart enough to surround himself with smarter
people, and thus will be remembered as a winner.  Mike Tyson could
have been the greatest heavyweight of all time, but instead
surrounded himself with “yes people” (cause he’s as dumb as a
stick).  He didn't’t do the things he needed to do in his career and
his life, and his laziness and poor judgement will be what people
remember most about Iron Mike.  A.I. may be one of the bravest
and gamest basketball players of his time, but his desire to “keep it
real” and not do what “the man” says, will probably put him out of
basketball in about three years.  Hey A.I., why don’t you work on
your frail body in the off season,  and SET the example in practice
every day next year.  It would amaze you at how much crap you can
get away with then...

Having worked in Pennsylvania for over ten years, I think it’s safe
to say that I can call
the PENDOT organization a bunch of complete
horses asses
.  Here’s an idea...  Let's do major construction on a
major artery on the east coast, through a major city.  Then just for
kicks, once or twice a week run a few “Roving PENDOT Crews” to
further close a couple of lanes.  I almost NEVER see anyone doing
anything on these crews.  What’s up with that?  I also know for a
fact that it took the good people at PENDOT over two years to
repave and recurb an overpass, roughly half the size of a city
block...  Geez we hate them!!!

“Unions helped build this great nation, unions will help tear it down as
well”
.  Thanks to just two unions mentioned here... New Jersey will
pay the average schoolteacher over $51,000 for 10 months work.  Is
there something here that we're missing?  Don’t get us wrong, we
think the teachers do a great job with out kids, our most important
resource.  But most teachers only have a BA, they get 2-3 weeks off
during yearly breaks, every major holiday, personal days, sick days,
and even Election Day off (Biggest head scratcher yet-  If I can vote
AND make it to work, how come state employees can't do the
same?  All they have to do is walk down the damn hall!).  Because of
their powerful union, NJ taxpayers will continue to bare the load of
increasing salaries.  Why can’t the state "just say no" to any to
raises for a year or two until we are in better financial shape?  God
forbid.  Last year Pubmaster Whitey’s company closed, but the
parent company made him an offer.  Either accept the layoff, or
transfer to another division for 25% less pay.  Being out of work
was worse then accepting less money.  Perhaps the teachers union
should take note.

How about the MLB Players Union.  Great Union, raising salaries
from on average $56,000 in 1976 to over two million this season.
The only problem is that the very league that pays them handsomely
for playing a children’s game is pretty much ruined, except for those
lucky fans in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.  How about a 6
team league?  Boy I bet it would be pretty exciting baseball.

In this case, it’s actually the owner’s fault for offering such obscene
sums of money.  However, MLB that pays the players is powerless to
end this madness.  The Great American Pastime needs fixin’.
A work
stoppage is imminent, almost welcomed...

Just a few things the folks have been heard talking about, over
beers and nuts at the Pub.
