Welcome to the annual Ski Trash
Weekend, in Killington Vermont.  This
year Halve gave it a cool name but I have
temporarily forgotten it.  Or maybe just
trying to forget Halvorsen.

A new year, and a new place and a new
place to hang our goggles and mittens
for 2012.  Lower Pico Condos.

We've stayed in the Upper Pico condos
on many occasions and have found them
suitable for our type of crew.  This year
we will be much closer to the spa and
pool area, so that may prove more
advantageous.

Some new blood will be joining us the
season, as Jon "aka Spence" Spencer is
bringing a posse of three newbies to the
annual event.  Welcome all, looking
forward to a lot of laughs and frosty malt
beverages with you all.  Joe P is also
bringing a couple of new dudes.  If they
ski anything like Joe, we're in for a
special treat.

This is the page to check for food items
to sign up to bring, DVD's-music-toys,
who is riding with who or whom (never
know how that whole thing goes), and
different ways to make fun of Halvorsen
(see top of slope).

Looking forward to a great weekend of
friends, skiing, Super Bowl party, and a
couple of Goombay smashes.

The 2012 Ski Trash weekend, "The Doce" has been deemed a success by all parties.  Many thanks to Team
Halvorsen for finding this year's accommodations and organizing the group.

Everyone arrived safely, the food was once again top notch, and a group of many strangers instantly bonded into
one fun group.

A few things to ponder for the 2012 trip, to be held once again on Super Bowl weekend.  Can we lock in enough
skiers and spa-ers to land 'the big house'?  Should we look for another post skiing Saturday hang out?  The
Gristmill has disappointed two years in a row, and will need to kick it back up a notch if they want our business
(that's just one skiers take).
The skiing was better than
anticipated, given the warm
winter we are experiencing.
Killington once again showed
why its the king of Vermont,
and those that strapped the
boards on Sunday to hit Pico
were pleasantly surprised by
the excellent conditions (if
not a huge variety).

A couple of worthy ski
accidents of note, taking
them in order.  New trasher
Patrick, quickly found that his
mad ski skills were no match
for the wall he skied into on
the pipe at Bear Mountain.
The ice unforgiving on both
his knee, and his ski, as he
lost both face and plastic on
Friday.

Justine once again took
home the crash of the week.
After several reminders on
controlling her speed, Bear
Mountain got the best of
Steeney.  She reached
"ludicrous speed" in one of
her last runs of the day (early
in the day to boot), was
unable to slow down, and
had an all out yard sale at
about 40 mph on a blue
square.  Skis, poles, hats all
over the mountain.  The
kicker was the guy who
walked some 30 yards back
up the hill to hand her her
blackberry phone.  Seriously
sister, a new hobby is
something to consider.  $90
for 3 runs each season not
quite an economical way to
go.  At least no injuries there.

G Halv didn't fare quite so
well later Saturday. Racing
himself on a negative green
circle, sIlvor caught an edge,
spun around, and tore
something needed in his right
calf.  Luckily he didn't tear his
pants, which are looking a
little tight these days.
Hats off to Killington for erecting a
cool new bar just outside the K1
Lodge.  That alone is worth the
admission price.
Super Bowl Sunday was again one of the weekend highlights.  The Giants mild upset over Tom Brady and
the Pats was applauded by 12/13ths of the group, with P&J and Sharon the games big cash winners.
