Welcome to Mr. White and Mr. Right, a web page dedicated
to some of the political discussion of the times often found
on Facebook threads (among others).  The purpose is to
identify and discuss the issues of our times, from two
distinctly different viewpoints.  Think of it as a common
sense Hannity and Combs, with less of the ugliness, better
looking participants, and the potential end game of
agreement.  Check back often, or click the contact us link
and chime in with the discussion as well.

I am in favor of heading toward a Fair Tax type of
economy as well.  Ron Paul makes a pretty good
argument for it as well.

I also wonder how much the country could earn in
a year, if it enacted a 360 Day only .05% "Debt
Tax" on everything, to help get us out of this mess.
We all contributed to it, why not all pay for it and
get it over with?
Business Tax
I am against all present taxes and for the Fair
Tax. Abolish the IRS and the Ever Changing
tax codes, they suck and you need an
accountant and attorney to keep up with them.
Fair Tax would eliminate all of the Lobbying in
Wash DC since the Congressmen would have
nothing to offer to those lobbyists in exchange
for all that money they throw around. That alone
is what would bring down the corruption in
Federal Gov., though they will try to find other
ways I am sure. Too may other things to say
about the Fair Tax and still keep us both
attentive right now, but make no mistake I think
it is a good thing for us.

Mr. Right
The Libya situation came on very quickly, and I
was satisfied that we worked within the
framework of the UN, and were not spearheading
the project.  We did what we said we would do,
and nothing more.

Iraq was a war based on false information, and
shoddy intelligence by the Bush Administration.
They basically listened to what they wanted to
hear, and discarded arguments (intelligence)
from opposing viewpoints.  To think, we based
much of our decisions on a crooked Iraq
expatriate.  A disaster.

The funny thing is, Bush was dead wrong on the
Iraq war, and still won re-election.  How stupid we
can be sometimes and/or what a lack of choice
we had in 2004.

Afghanistan was the right move, and now that Bin
Laden is taken care of and The Taliban
somewhat reduced (they are like roaches, and
will never go away), we should declare victory
and get our troops the heck out of there.
The Wars in
Afghanistan and
Iraq
I am assuming you are speaking of the present
ones the US is involved in. I don't agree with
going into Libya, even a little. It was never
voted on- per Constitutional Order. Nuf Said.

Iraq was voted on and we did a just war after
we were attacked. That is where my
agreement with this war ends. I am not of the
belief that we should risk our lives, money and
safety at home while we rebuild some
ungrateful people's country after WE just blew it
up.

I feel the same toward Afghanistan. War is a
necessary evil, no one of any sanity enjoys it.
But just go and do what you came there to do
and get everyone back home safe. The End.
As of Memorial Day 2011, who knows.  I thought
Huckabee would be a decent candidate.  Chris
Christie (NJ Governor) has said he isn't
interested, but my feeling is that with a current
lack of talent, he will be pressured to run.  If so, he
could be a very solid candidate.

Ron Paul is also a very interesting candidate,
who probably can't win the Presidential office.

This would be a fun item to get some fun
graphics on.  Will work on it...
Who will President
Obamas 2012
GOP opponent be?
GETTING RIGHT TO IT...

I HAVE BEEN TOUTING FOR MONTHS THE
VIRTUES OF
HERMAN CAIN AND I HOPE
HE GETS THRU THE PRIMARY.  HE WOULD
EASILY HAND OBAMA HIS HAT AND
BECOME THE NEXT PRESIDENT. HE IS
ALL FOR THE FAIR TAX, SOMETHING I AM
A BIG SUPPORTER OF AND HE IS THE
ONLY ONE RUNNING WITH THAT ON HIS
PLATE. INSTANT STAMP OF APPROVAL!
HE IS NOT SHY ABOUT HIS
CONSERVATIVE VIEWS, EVEN THOUGH
MOST BLACKS ARE LIBS AND IS A FAR
BETTER SPEAKER THAN BHO. NO
TELEPROMPTER IS NEEDED WITH THIS
INTELLIGENT MAN OF CONVICTION,
UNLIKE BHO. WHAT HUGE GAINS HE
WOULD MAKE FOR THE COUNTRY IN ALL
AREAS. FISCALLY, MILITARILY, JOB GAINS,
RACE RELATIONS ETC. THE SKY IS THE
LIMIT WITH CAIN, PARTICULARLY IF HE
GETS THE FAIR TAX IN PLACE.

THE REASON WHY
CHRISTIE AND TRUMP
ARE SEEN AS PEOPLE WHO COULD BEAT
OBAMA, AND MAYBE A REASON WHY YOU
MAY LIKE CHRISTIE, IS BECAUSE THEY
ARE NOT AFRAID TO TAKE IT TO HIM. THEY
SPEAK STRONGLY AND WITH
CONFIDENCE, NOT FEARING TO BE
CALLED RACISTS OR ANY OTHER LIB
SLANDER. BUT NEITHER WILL RUN.
TRUMP WOULD BE A NITEMARE ANYWAY.
CHRISTIE WOULD BE MORE
PRESIDENTIAL, MORE FISCALLY
RESPONSIBLE AND TOUGHER ON OUR
ENEMIES. BUT THAT IS WHERE HIS HIGH
CARD ENDS. HE SUCKS ON MOST ALL
OTHER MEASURES.

PALIN WILL RUN, IN MY OPINION. WHY
ELSE WOULD SHE HAVE HER BUS TOUR
STOP IN NEW ENGLAND DURING
ROMNEY'S ANNOUNCEMENT AND IN
FRONT OF A MUCH LARGER CROWD,
DISSING HIS ROMNEYCARE PROGRAM
AND HIM. SHE WOULD MAKE A DECENT
PRESIDENT, BUT NOT GREAT, AND I AM
NOT LOOKING FOR A SEAT HOLDER. GIVE
HER A CABINET POSITION OR HILLARY'S
SEAT.

NEWT IS DONE. HE HAS TOO BIG OF A
MOUTH. HE IS SUCH AN INTELLIGENT MAN,
BUT HE CANT CONTROL HIS BLABBER
MOUTH. HIS ATTEMPTS TO CROSS PARTY
LINES AND BE PHOTOGRAPHED WITH
PELOSI, HIS STANCE ON MAN MADE
GLOBAL WARMING, WISHY WASHY SPINE
WHEN DEALING WITH ILLEGAL
IMMIGRATION, ALL ADD UP TO A LOST
OPPORTUNITY AT GREATNESS. IF HE
JUST STAYED THE COURSE HE CHARTED
IN THE REAGAN ERA, BUT OH WELL.

SANTORUM WILL RUN AND HE WOULD BE
DECENT AS WELL. HE IS A GOOD MAN,
SOLID. BUT, HE HAS NO NAME
RECOGNITION OR MONEY. QUICK BOW
OUT.

ROMNEY WILL RIDE HIS NAME
RECOGNITION AND MONEY, BUT HIS
MANDATED HEALTHCARE WILL KILL HIM.

I KNOW YOU THINK THESE ARE WEAK
CANDIDATES, BUT ELMER FUDD COULD
BEAT OBAMA IN A FAIR ELECTION IN 2012.
OBAMA CANT RUN ON HIS RECORD, IT IS
FULL OF LOW LITES. ONLY THE BINLADEN
MURDER IS A PLUS FOR HIM.

HE WILL RUN A DIRTY BLAME THEM
CAMPAIGN, LIKE LAST TIME, ONLY
WORSE. IF HIS OPPONENT IS WHITE HE
WILL TRY THE RACE CARD GAME AGAIN,
FURTHERING THE RACE DIVIDE BTW. HIS
BILLION DOLLARS OF STOLEN STIMULUS
MONEY WILL ALSO MAKE HIS CAMPAIGN
DIFFICULT TO BEAT. HELL THIS IS HOW HE
HAS MADE HIS CAREER. NOT WINNING ON
SUBSTANCE, BUT BY BEATING DOWN THE
OPPOSITION.

TRUMP, NETANYAHOO, PALIN AND
HERMAN KNOW AND HAVE SHOWN THE
BLUEPRINT FOR BEATING OBAMA. TAKE
NONE OF HIS BS AND PUSH BACK,
POLITELY, BUT WITH GREAT FORCE.
EASY REPUBLICAN WIN IN 2012, WITH
EVEN BIGGER RESULTS THAN 2010.

I know I have asked this of you before, but never got your answers:  Why are you a Liberal?
As a follow up:  Do you actually "Live" the Lib doctrine or just promote it?
I think its a good question.  My answer would be, I'm an American.

The question is valid because it represents one of the fundamental problems with American politics and
media today, and that is, apparently a person has to fit nicely into one mode or the other.  I am liberal in
some instances, and conservative in others.  I think most people are, but that isn't where the sexy TV
ratings come into play.  "Average" doesn't sell, extremism seems to.

I am more liberal overall however, and I think that is because I see our nation as a fluid arrangement, ever
changing due to population, technology, the overall advancement of human kind.

I don't know what living the liberal doctrine means, you'll have to explain that one to me.
You are definitely an American and clearly proud to say so!! (I could cop an annoying Hannity toy here and
call you "a Great American, but that is far too cheezy my brother).
I agree that in the realm of the media your easier to sell, for better or worse, if you have a label. They have
their reasons for doing so.

My question was more of what is in your personal, deeply rooted, core beliefs. I am not concerned with
others here, just you. You as a man, husband, father, American. The whole soul searching thing here.
Are the conservative values what guide you or the liberal ones?
Again, I don't roll with such a broad brush.  Overall, I think you should work hard and enjoy the benefits of
such.  I think Uncle Sam should stay out of your business in most cases.  However, I do believe that the
deck is stacked against many in this country (poor, sick, sometimes business), and because of that
government has a role to play.   I think this question best served for individual issues.

You say that you lean more toward a liberal stance, but I dint see the connection to the reasons that you
stated (tech, population etc). You'll have to expand on that for me.

(time) Well, conservatives are all about sticking to the constitution, however time doesn't stand still and
changes need to be make.  The right to bare arms for instance today has created a situation where
America has the most deaths via guns than anywhere else in the world.  That isn't a good thing.

(tech)  Stem cell research can benefit mankind, but conservatives won't budge.

(population/growth)  more people means more services are needed (at the very least, roadways, bridges,
national security, etc), and all need to be financed if we (the rich and the poor) want to continue to enjoy
our current lifestyles.
My follow up question as to whether you are living the liberal doctrine is going to be based on your answer
to the first question of "Why are you a liberal?".

Your answer is still unclear to me as it is not cut and dry.
Can't broad brush it.  First and foremost I am usually a fan of States Rights, which is under utilized.

When I hear about any issue, my first inclination is to wonder why each side is reacting the way they are,
what the best outcome may be for the country not just today, but into the future, who is lying, etc.  Again,
best served in this forum on a case by case basis, which we should compile a list of.
Here is my effort to explain my follow up:
For me I am a conservative inside and out, very cut and dry. Those values are not only instilled in me over
all of the years of my life, but they are the values I try to follow and profess to others in the hopes of them
seeing what I see.

As examples: I would never have any woman I was intimate with get an abortion and would fight them to
not do so if that is what they wanted.
Whitey:  I am 51%-49% in favor of women's rights to choose.

I choose to help someone get ahead in THEIR efforts, rather than to pay someone without efforts to stay in
low standings. Etc.
Whitey:  Welfare needs reforms.  There is a place for welfare though in this country, but it has gotten out of
hand.

The reason for the follow up question is this:
I have not yet found a person who claims to be a Liberal, but lives the doctrines he professes others to live.
Chris you gave some well thought out answers and none made me feel that you are a hard core lib, which
to me is a good thing. But there were spots that are what differentiate our views.

The major one would be the "Time" response. You are of the opinion that the Constitution needs to evolve
and I am not. I believe that there are reasons for our countries greatness and All stem from that document.
Why would anyone want to screw with something that has achieved us number one status in just 200
years? Your example of the right to bear arms is easy to counter in that those murders were not
committed by licensed gun owners, but by those who violate that very law. The stats show that in every
state. Licensed owners have been the ones keeping that number lower than it would be without them.

Stem cell can be construed as playing God. To be fair to both sides, my knowledge on this subject is
minimal so for now I will bow out.

Population remark: I agree! It is in how we pay for such services that we may differ.

I am glad that you at least are on the fence where abortion is concerned. This one really bothers me.
50,000 babies are killed each year, mainly minorities, most of them as just a means of birth control  not
rape, mother's life in jeopardy or incest (the only reasons I would warrant justifiable). A sad commentary
on our society.

My statement on a liberal actually living what he professes others to do:
We both know many libs are forever touting to pay more taxes to finance the poor, upgrade someone
else's life, anti capital punishment etc all to the point of ridiculous debt loads.

Yet I have not seen any of these hard core Liberals out in the hood doing Anything to actually help
someone Ever. I spend a lot of time in these places everyday and I am still waiting, decades now.
To a lesser degree, the poor we are supposedly helping wont help themselves, let alone their neighbor.
(You are right Welfare does need a big change.) Also these same Libs are free to pay more taxes at
anytime., They scream about how WE should, but yet they take every break they can come across just the
way the tax code is written (insert John Kerry , Springsteen & Bon Jovi here).

The really odd one is that there are anti capital punishment for Murderers ( violent takers of life)  out there
having abortions (life's innocents).

There are many more examples for another time.

Social
Issues
Mr. Right
I am 100% in favor of all privelidges for same sex
marriage, and am a hypocrite.

First, I don't think it should be a ballet item.  If that
were the case, it would probably take much too
long to pass.  However, I think it is a States
Right's issue somewhat too.  It needs to be
added to state's Constitutions, however that is
done in each state.  If there is a state though, that
is 90% Conservative citizens though, it isn't right
to make them accept it if they don't want.  These
people also have freedoms.
 Democracy =
Citizens Choice
, like it or not.
Same Sex
Marriage
The statement alone is an impossibility.
Marriage is defined as 1 man 1 woman. Even
Mr Webster himself said so and Barack
concurred. We cant go around re-defining
words to suit someone's agenda. This also
degrades a true marriage.

On the Up-Side, it is my contention that gay
couples should have civil union opportunities
afforded them, hopefully in all states. This would
give them similar rights to legal matters
concerning couples.
No good answer here, but I am generally in favor
of a women's right to choose.  I have no problem
with people voicing their concerns on this issue,
as long as the discussion is civil and respectful.

A states rights item.
Abortion
(Freedom of
Choice)
I am absolutely Against it Unless the mother's
life is in medical jeopardy or in cases of
rape/incest.  Your statement that it's "been
decided" is false. It has never been voted on
nor is it really a law. It was a court ruling,
Roe-vs-Wade, nothing more. That is why it
always comes up over and over.  I say lets end
the debate with a vote and go from there.
Also I think NO tax money should ever go to
fund a single abortion. I am a Catholic and I
want to go to heaven. Being party to these
killings is against my religion and I should Not
be forced to pay for someone's stupidity and
risk my standing with God.

Additionally, I want it to become federal law (not
just in some states) that parental notification
prior to a single hand touches an underage girl
seeking abortion be Mandatory. If no one can
touch your child for a splinter, why in the world
should they be able to do major surgery that has
long term physical and even more so, emotional
effects on a minor? Stupid huh?
  Welfare Reform

I am for it for 1st Degree Murder cases
(premeditated) and Law Enforcement murders.

A States Rights item.
Capital
Punishment
I am for it and would like to put a 2 year
limitation on appeals.

Adoption Reform

I don't have a problem with it, if there are strict
guidelines on abuse.  To me, its a less
destructive social habit than alcohol, the
legalized drug- responsible for how much
suffering and abuse?

A States Rights item and certainly something the
private sector has the right to test for.
Legalized
Marijuana
It is legal now under prescription in many states.
That is good enough, unless you want drug
testing in every occupation, not just truckers.

Not a good move to me.

Immigration
Though I am not knowledgeable in the legal
hoops a person seeking legal status here must
go through, I would think it cant be that difficult.
My Grandparents all managed to go through
Ellis Island, serve in the Army, learn the
language, assimilate to OUR culture and raise
families. Not bad for un-educated, hard
working, GOOD people.

The ILLEGALS who are living here are
breaking the Law of the Nation. What is so hard
to understand? Good Bye to all of you who are
draining the nations resources, drug dealing
murderers, AlQuieda cells, Human traffickers,
and even you good people who are just
Breaking the LAW by being here.
